Phlebotomists have an important role in the medical community. They are responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens that are to be analyzed in a medical lab to determine if a patient has a serious disease or illness. The information that they provide physicians and specialists will help in the overall treatment and possible cure for the patient.

Throughout the course of the program students will learn to operate various types of medical equipment, draw blood and other specimen samples for medical testing, and complete lab work to test specimen for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Training includes classroom study, lab experiences and various exercises pertaining to the Phlebotomy field.
